Grandma always told me...
"Write it all down on the back. You'll forget otherwise."
I never did. I figured if I forgot, it probably wasn't important enough.
Or, I was too lazy to make the notes. Or, both.
Either way, the photos are faded. Mostly gone, even.
The computer takes its own notes ... oblivious to the places, the times, and the meanings.
And all I'm wondering in the meantime, is why I spent a piece of real film on this elephant on that day.
I'm sure the National Geographic over there on the shelf has many better shots of elephants.
But then, I would not be remembering that good advice.
And I would not be wondering what I've forgotten about the memories I always thought I'd have.
